I have been talking about light therapy with my family ever since I heard about it. My brother is an athlete and he mentioned infrared therapy was used by their team doctor during medical sessions and checkup. Although he couldn’t get to explain the ‘why’ behind it, here I am!.
What could be the application of infrared in this niche? My kids play all day and my little girl is in the race team, I am considering getting a light therapy kit for her, I don’t know if it may be beneficial for her, looking forward to any advise i can get here.

People often mistake the use of light therapy as being only used for cosmetics effect, however, the application of red and NIR light therapy goes far deeper than that. Your brother’s doctor most probably is using light therapy as part of a treatment and care procedure for the team’s health.
Light therapy helps in relieving pains, treating cuts, injuries and as anti-inflammation. All these are important for an athlete’s life.
So, yes, your daughter can use light therapy, it is very good for her. As a safety measure, it is most advisable to use these devises under the supervision of an adult, you. So you can monitor time, frequency and distance of light therapy use.
Have a blast!.
Best,

I use it in my home sauna as well as for my back pain. 15 min session helps me a lot with the pain. I did some research before buying it and came across NovoThor Near Infrared Bed which is used by may athletes and football teams. It costs $140,000. I know right?!? I wished I had money like that. Those bulbs have same result for fraction of the cost. Highly recommend for your athlete. Best of luck

September 22, 2020 at 1:43 pm #604MarianneParticipantHi. Do you have an update with this? I want to know because I have a friend who is also an athlete and I would recommend this to her and invite her here in the forum so she can learn more too. Please post an update. Have a wonderful weekdays.
September 23, 2020 at 5:43 pm #646NIKKIGALParticipantMarianne, I don’t they are still active in this forum. Might as well try it if I were you. I mean there are no claims that red light has been dangerous to our health and we are also using it and some doctors are too in their clinics. That’s just my opinion though. Let’s try and do some research I will keep you posted if I ever bump into an article that can help you with this.
September 25, 2020 at 4:29 pm #691MaryJaneParticipantNIR is good for everybody (except new born i guess) Even pets can benefit from it too specially old pets.
September 28, 2020 at 3:27 pm #720CutiePie03ParticipantI guess so too, since you said they are active, Not only does it improve muscular performance, but it also reduces muscular fatigue and muscle damage that is ubiquitous with exercise.
September 28, 2020 at 8:08 pm #743MaryJaneParticipantYeah, I also read that some RLT users are using it to help lessen muscular and joint pains, so that will help active kids and even adults.
October 5, 2020 at 4:32 pm #826gudemamaParticipantI’ve read that, RLT helps repair muscles and recovery. You may use it on post and pre-workout.I’ve found this helpful tips.
October 5, 2020 at 4:46 pm #828masterpopoParticipantHello girls, I am a 42 years old man and I am using RLT to ease muscle pains and it is doing it’s job nicely. I do not do workouts or exercise but I normally jog every morning for about 50mins to 1hr and ever since I used RLT I get to complete my daily task after I jog unlike before. So, I guess it is safe to say that, yes! RLT will help your kids especially they are physically active.
October 6, 2020 at 8:17 pm #897HoneyParticipant@masterpopo that’s great! my brother is also considering using RLT after his workout routines though he said he will just give it a try. I guess by reading your comments, he might eventually like it.
October 7, 2020 at 3:48 pm #917MarkusParticipantYes, actually some athletes are using red light therapy can recover muscles from soreness and speeds up the recovery.
